Café
We are creating an ambience that is simple, honest and pure — these are the first images of the café, which is now open and within which we are delighted to be serving!
As always, our primary objective is to present the finest quality products, sourced locally whenever possible. For example, we use the very best local flour from Gilchesters Organics in Northumberland; our eggs are exclusively from Haydon Bridge Hens, and we source more exotic ingredients from Suma, the friendly wholefoods suppliers.
Opening in time for the second May 2009 Bank Holiday weekend, our lovely café has been developed in direct response to demand! The Allendale Bakery is an ideal half-way destination for walkers enjoying the River Trail. There aren’t that many cafés in such an idyllic rural setting — indeed, it seems Allendale Bakery Café is the only establishment actually serving tea on the whole of Isaac’s Tea Trail!
We’re featuring our Wonderful Breads and Specialty Products in the café, in a cosy setting with the emphasis on real, pure and honest fare. There’s a lovely cosy corner with comfortable sofa, where our guests can relax on comfortable sofas and read today’s paper if they like. More conventional café tables seat 40 guests downstairs, surrounded by the ambience of freshly-baked bread and exciting treats created next door. As well as 5 smaller tables around the room, we have a long 12-16 seat table in the centre, to facilitate friendly conversation.
Upstairs by the bespoke wooden staircase, a workshop/conference room is available for private hire. This function room is fully carpetted, and can accommodate 22 people around a square table, or an audience of 50 in theatre style seating. We provide a complete WiFi’ed broadband internet access with full digital projection and stereo sound for conferees, as well as conventional flipchart/whiteboard facilities, and of course we are delighted to cater for parties and/or workshops throughout the day. Often hirers like the formality of a Booking Form and our standard form (in pdf format) can be downloaded here:
