November 2011 Breadmaking Courses

We’ve uploaded a course booking form at the bottom of this page;   we’ll  follow the same successful format we’ve used for the past several semi-annual offerings, namely a separate and individual breadmaking course on each of the Tuesdays in November.

Before reading any further, it’s only fair to note that all of the 36 slots described below (6 places on each of  6 Tuesdays) are now fully booked.  We’ll be delighted to take note of your contact details in case of any last-minute cancellations, but otherwise, so sorry, we’re full!

  • We’ll start on the 1st of November, which is the first Tuesday, with ‘Breadmaking for Beginners’ . . .
  • The second Tuesday, the 8th, will feature ‘Making Real Bread’
  • For the third Tuesday, the 15th, we’ll concentrate on ‘Fancy Breads
  • Lots of continuing interest in our offering on the 22nd, which is ‘Sourdough Techniques’
  • We’ll offer on the 5th Tuesday (the 29th)  ‘Bread for Special Occasions:  Festive Breads’
  • 1st Tuesday in December:  reprise of ‘Breadmaking for Beginners’, by popular demand!

The courses are sensibly priced at £75 each, which comprises a full day of baking and instruction (from 8:30am until about 4:30pm).  All material and utensils are provided, in addition to a welcome coffee/tea, a friendly lunch served in the café (which is otherwise closed to customers), and a wrap-up afternoon tea.  You get to take everything you bake home with you!  What’s more, if you book more than 1 course, you get a special discount so each course only costs £60, which is a savings of £15 over the full price for an individual course.  Excellent value for sure, and we’re so delighted to be so much appreciated by our students who regularly come back for more instruction.

It’s a good idea, since these courses are so popular, to check with Carrie at the Bakery (01434) 618879 first to ensure availability, before confirming your place with a cheque (payable to Allendale Bakery Ltd.)
